Fishing

Mer tested out her new Barbie fishing pole at Pickerel Lake today. We had some bites, but unfortunately didn't catch anything. She had fun anyway.

Happy Birthday!

"They say it's your birthday....it's my birthday too, yeah!"
Meredith was very excited for her Daddy's birthday. So excited, in fact, that she declared she must have a birthday cupcake as well when we went to the store to pick out a birthday treat for Daddy. And yes, she insisted on having candles on her cupcake.

Roasting Marshmallows

Well, after weeks of begging (by both Sean and Meredith), we had the first backyard fire of the season last night. Mer loved roasting marshmallows, and she and her daddy both loved sitting by the fire.

Appletree Carnival

We had a fun time at the Appletree Family Carnival this morning. Mer enjoyed playing lots of fun games (including ping-pong ball and bean bag toss), coloring, face painting and winning prizes.

Easter at the Beach

Today was a nice sunny day in the mid-50s and we enjoyed some time at Tunnel Park (next to Holland State Park). Mer liked playing in the sand and helping me fly a kite.

Easter

Here's some photos of Easter festivities. Meredith wore her pretty new dress to the Easter Vigil service last night, and this morning, she was so happy to find that the Easter Bunny left a basket for her - complete with a very special gift. The Barbie fishing pole she received is getting a lot of attention, from both Mer and Daddy.

Decorating Eggs

It was Mer's first year decorating Easter eggs and she really loved the experience. The smell of hard-boiled eggs was almost too much for me, but we decided to make bake Easter bunny cookies to help combat the odor.

Zoobilee

The zoo opened this week for some special Spring Break activities. Sean and Mer enjoyed a visit there on Good Friday.
