Happy Halloween!

We had a fun evening trick-or-treating with the Sperlings.  LaLa, Bumpa, and Charlie passed out candy while we ventured out into the rain to collect our candy loot.  We had a great time, despite the dreary weather.

Zoo Goes Boo

We had a fun morning at John Ball Park Zoo at the Zoo Goes Boo festival.  Mer, Charlie, and cousin Gavin went trick-or-treating around the zoo and saw the animals.  Meredith dressed as a fairy, Gavin was Wyatt from the kids PBS show "Super Why!" and Charlie was a tiger.  Today was a good practice round; the big show is Wednesday night.

Jill-o-lantern

Mer was very excited to carve her pumpkin this morning.  She was very specific on what she wanted the face of her pumpkin (eyelashes, no nose, big smile, 2 teeth).  Sean gets the design credit and I did a fair job carving, under Meredith's watchful eye.  Even Charlie seemed mesmerized by the glowing pumpkin on the kitchen floor.  When asked what the pumpkin's name was, she thought for a minute and replied, "Jill-o-lantern."

Saturday at the Apple Orchard

We had a great Saturday outing to Schwallier's Country Basket this morning.  Baby farm animals, straw bale mountains, rubber ducky races, pumpkins, apples, doughnuts, cider, and cow train rides - what's not to love?

Happy 4th Birthday, Mer

After dinner on Tuesday, we enjoyed a final piece of birthday cake and opened the rest of Mer's presents.  She got some great toys, stickers, and games!  She was very excited to get a pair of roller skates, as she's been asking for these for weeks.  The wheels adjust to lock or roll forward only, so they're perfect for Mer; she liked Daddy pulling her around the garage.  What a big girl!

Meredith's Birthday Party

Meredith enjoyed a nice dinner, cake, and ice cream with the Sperlings yesterday for an early birthday party.  I unfortunately didn't take enough photos, but we will take many more tomorrow when our birthday girl "officially" turns 4!
