Happy Birthday, Mer!

Thursday was a fun day!  Meredith got to present a special poster all about herself to her classmates, pick from the mystery prize box, and get 6 high-fives from her teacher, Mrs. E.  We had a special taco dinner (Mer's request), and brown bessert - chocolate cupcakes and chocolate ice cream.  She loved the gifts, cards, and phone calls.  Today is the birthday party with her friends and family, so more to come!

Afternoon with the Animals

We enjoyed a fun Sunday afternoon at Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park just outside of Grand Rapids - what a fun place!  Mer and Charlie loved checking out the exotic animals, feeding goats, antelope, camels, and giraffes - not to mention the parakeets.  Charlie had a blast on the safari bus ride.  I think that yesterday was the last of our summer-like weather.

Clara Visit

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with Aunt Clara.  We went to Grand Haven to soak up the sun on Friday, went to Mer's soccer game on Saturday morning, went to the GR Public Museum Saturday afternoon, and had fun on a rainy Sunday playing in the basement.  Thank you for coming, Clara!

First Day

It's been a great morning!  We took photos with our fellow neighborhood Breton Bulldogs and then we all walked to school.  Meredith is just thrilled to be a kindergartener.

'Twas the Night Before Kindergarten

...and Meredith's ready!  It was a big day for Mer - not only did she learn how to ride her two-wheeler bike (training wheels off!) but she got her outfit and backpack ready for the big day tomorrow.  Mer is very excited to be an "official" school-ager.  We sprinkled her bed with "Ready Confetti" provided by her teacher, Mrs. E, and we are looking forward to a great day tomorrow.

Summer Visit

We had a fun August visit with Nannie & Grandpa Tom - beach outing, nature walks, reading books, pool, and lots of play doh!  We look forward to our next visit already!
