Big March Blog

It's been a few weeks, so we have a few events to blog about!
Last weekend, we went to the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex inside of Muskegon State Park (Charlie was getting over the flu, so he stayed back wit Lala and Bumpa).  We enjoyed outdoor ice skating and walking through the woods.  Mer rang the bells as the lugers sled down the luge track.

On Charlie's preschool was closed this past Friday, so he and I spent the day together at the GR Children's Museum.  He liked the sand table and playing, "bubble pop!"

And then.....Mer lost a tooth!
Yesterday, we went to the GR Symphony Lollipops performance of "Green Eggs and Ham" with Lala, Gavin, and Patsi

And this afternoon, we went to the Shrine Circus.  The kids liked seeing the tigers, elephants, dancing pigs, clowns, and acrobats.  Mer chose to have her face painted like a butterfly, but Charlie was more interested in just playing with his glow wand.

Winter Visit

It was a wonderful weekend with Nannie & Grandpa Tom - filled with lots of activities!  Baking, crafting, playing, Meijer Gardens, sledding, dancing, and laughing.  We miss them already but are looking forward to a summer visit.

Saturday - Skating & Daddy Daughter Dance

It's been a fun Saturday - we started our morning at Home Depot for a kids workshop. We build a Valentine's Day box.  Then we went to skating and ended the day getting ready for a special dinner at a restaurant and then to the Daddy Daughter Dance at the high school.  Mer was so excited....Charlie was too!

Skating, Skating, Skating - and Losing Tooth #3

I took Meredith ice skating for the first time last Sunday, and she was hooked!  Since then, she's taken skating lessons and we practiced again today for 2 hours.  She absolutely loves skating and said that it's better than sledding!  Charlie stayed home for the skating, but I know that he'll be ready to join his sister on the rink in a couple years.
Meredith lost her third tooth last night.  Her front two upper teeth are also loose, so I expect they'll be gone in a couple weeks.  Mer puts the tooth in her tooth fairy pillow, and the tooth fairy brings a Sacagawea dollar and a cherry Ring Pop every time.
Here are a couple pics of Charlie and Mer enjoying playing in the snow last weekend:

Christmas Fun

We had a wonderful Christmas morning and Christmas dinner with LaLa, Bumpa, and Uncle Eric.  Mer and Charlie loved all of their gifts.

On Saturday, we enjoyed a fun trip to the GR Public Museum to see the new Pirate exhibit.  You can probably tell from the photos that the kids had a blast, especially Charlie.  He wants to do whatever his big sister is doing.  In the final photo, Mer is displaying one of her many rubber band bracelets she likes to make on the bracelet loom she received from Uncle Eric.
