Pumpkin fest

The weather wasn't great last weekend, but we made the most of it, with a visit to Flowerland to have fun at Pumpkinfest. They had pumpkin decorating, miniature golf, pumpkin bowling, donuts and cider. 

We then burned off some energy at a nearby park. The kids had fun.

Mer's 8!

Mer had a great birthday - 8 years old! We appreciated all of the cards, phone calls, and gifts. Mer really enjoyed opening gifts with her cousins  and enjoying cake and ice cream. 

Beautiful Fall Weekend

We had a fun weekend, enjoying everything Grand Rapids.

Oktoberfest at our neighbors' house last night was a blast for everyone. The kids lived the bounce house!

And Meijer Gardens was beautiful this afternoon - spectacular mums. 

September Camping

We had such a great time camping at Diamond Lake campground last weekend. The weather was beautiful. We hiked in Manistee National Forest and came upon the ruins of an old farm. We swam in the lake (in September!), enjoyed campfires and cupcakes, and the kids loved using Sean's metal detector to hunt for treasures. We look forward to visiting again next summer. 

First Day of School

Mer was so excited for her first day of school! She had her outfit picked out four days ago. We took a photo with the neighborhood kids and walked to school. Charlie wasn't interested in taking pictures this morning, but he went with us to walk our second grader to school.
