Birthday Party
Charlie had fun at his birthday pizza party with the Sperlings. He liked all of his presents - particularly his Daniel Tiger stuffed animal, Thomas the Train toy, and new desk for his bedroom. And, of course, he again loved the chocolate cake!

Happy Birthday, Charlie!
We had a fun time celebrating Charlie's 3rd birthday on Tuesday. He liked playing with his new basketball hoop and Duplo blocks. We feasted on mac n' cheese and chocolate cake. He was thrilled with the menu he chose! He even blew out all of the candles on his cake at once, and Mer was shocked. Thank you for the gifts, cards, and birthday calls.

The 4th!
It was a fun July weekend! We went to the EGR 4th of July parade on Saturday and took in the Reeds Lake fireworks on Saturday night. On Sunday, we went to check out the new Japanese Garden and Children's Garden and Meijer Gardens.
We can't believe Charlie is turning 3 tomorrow!

Vacation - Days 5 & 6
On Wednesday, we went back to Leland to revisit Fishtown and some clothing stores. During naptime, Mer and I revisited Pierce Stocking and after naptime, it was beach time! The water was ice cold, but Mer didn't mind!
On the last day of our vacation, we drove to Frankfort to check out the town. The kids like playing on the playground.

Vacation - Days 2 & 3
On Monday morning, we drove through the towns of Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, and Northport. We stopped to check out Grand Traverse Lighthouse for a little history and stone thowing.
We then drove to Leland and ate a delicious fried perch lunch at The Cove in Fishtown.
After naptime, we went back to the dune climb; it was brother's turn to conquer the dune!
We then drove to Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive to check out the view of Lake Michigan - it was covered in a layer of fog this afternoon.
The next day, we enjoyed exploring the Homestead and the Crystal River in the morning. In the afternoon, we rented bikes in Glen Arbor and biked the Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail to the dune climb and beyond. Mer was a trooper, helping me bike 10 miles. Charlie lounged in his carrier with "Pacie" - his beloved leopard blanket.
See the fish?
