Spring (?) Weekend

60 degrees in February?!  And sunny??! We'll take it!  It was fun to spend both Saturday and Sunday outside - visiting Meijer Gardens, parks, and riding bikes.

Valentine's Day

Mer and Sean enjoyed attending the Sweetheart Dance (Daddy / Daughter Dance) on Saturday night.  They went out to dinner with friends and then went to the middle school for dancing and crafts.  Charlie and I built a Lego construction site set.  He followed the "constructions" by himself and built the entire set with minimal assistance.  He loves Legos.

Ice Skating & Puppy Bowl

We went ice skating yesterday afternoon in Grand Rapids.  Mer loves skating, but Charlie was a bit hesitant to try a new winter sport...and did not want us taking pictures while he contemplated the new winter sport.  Then we went home to enjoy a hot dog dinner (one of the kids' favorite meals) before turning on the Puppy Bowl.  Mer and Lily liked the Bowl Game a lot, but Charlie opted for a cartoon in bed.  Fun Sunday!

Swimmer Girl

Here's a photo of Mer showing off her swimming ribbons last night. She has a few more to add to the board from this past weekend's meet against Northview: a first place for her medley relay, a second place for 25 backstroke, a second place for 25 freestyle, and a third place in her freestyle relay.
She swims in a meet against Grand Rapids this weekend and then in two weeks, she'll complete in the West Michigan Swim League Association finals.  I'll post pictures of Saturday's meet this weekend.

New Year's Eve

We had a blast on NYE - we went to a Holiday Inn Express near Grand Rapids which was hosting a New Year's family party.  We enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing on the splash pad, made balloon animals, watched a magic show, made our own sundaes, and had all kinds of fun hanging out with Aubrey, Gavin, Bryan, Patricia, Eric, and Lala.  It was a great evening!
