Tuesday's at the Gardens

We have enjoyed visiting Meijer Gardens on Tuesday evenings this summer, as the facility is open until 9 pm.  Here are some pictures of our visit last week.

Sunday Fishing

Ada Park is one of our favorite parks to visit as a family.  It's about 15 minutes away - it has a great playground, nice walking trails, and a loaded fish pond (!)  Only kids under 12 and adults over 65 can fish in the pond, as the town park service stocks it full of bass, perch, bluegill, and sunfish.
We went late in the afternoon, and the fish weren't really biting because it was too hot.  However, Mer did catch a bluegill.
Fishing at Ada Park was good practice for this coming weekend, as we will be camping at Diamond Lake county campground just north of White Cloud, MI.

July

We have been enjoying this month. We celebrated the 4th of July and Charlie turned 5.  We have a few pictures from the 4th and some of Charlie enjoying his new binoculars.

June

June photos - several photos from our trip up north.  We enjoyed spending a week in Leelanau County.  There are also a couple pictures of Charlie playing t-ball and one of Meredith on the last day of school.

I finally transferred all of my photos from my phone to the PC. Now that I know how to transfer them, it will be much easier to blog regularly.

Little Slugger

Charlie is too young to join a t-ball team this spring, but he was able to participate in the Little Sluggers program through parks and rec.  He is learning how to hit, field, catch, and throw.  He had his first lesson last night and really loved it; he has a couple friends from his preschool in the class.
He was really worn out after all the action!
